So, I was thinking about Edward today

Alright ladies...I've given you PLENTY of time to read that fabulous book, "Twilight" that I mentioned a week or so ago. If you haven't picked it up yet, SHAME ON YOU! We need to make something clear here...YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK! You'll LOVE it!

But that's not the purpose of my post today. I wanted to let you all know that the stories of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen are NOT over! In fact, they are just beginning! I've included a picture of "New Moon" the second book and it's just as fabulous. Yep, read this one in just a few short days as well.

Also...get really excited about this...the third book, called "Eclipse" is going to be released early August. I can hardly wait for all that!

Now THAT'S BBQ!

As many of my know, my husband is from Kentucky...(The South)...and I guess people from the south are obsessed with BBQ. Quite frequently there is talk of soemone in the family finding a "GOOD BBQ" and that everyone needs to try next time they are in town (wherever that town may be). This is all a new way of life for me as I never really thought of a restaurant as anything other than just that! A restaurant with good (or bad) food. But I have been completely MISTAKEN! Gary is quite picky about his BBQ and we have yet to find one that meets his southern expectations. Believe me, we've been lookin!

Recently, I was given a gift certificate to Goodwood BBQ from work and the other day Gary and I went. I'd been there before but it was before I knew Gary and all about this BBQ way of life so I was a big nervous about his brutal critique at the end of the meal.

We took a few pictures, the food sure LOOKED good eh? BUT, let me tell you...I missed the BEST picture of the night. Their Onion Rings...WHAT WAS I THINKING? I could have gone home happy after eating those...Hmmm. Ha! Has anyone had them? Oh my GOSH! I looked online for a picture, but couldn't find one. I suppose I'll just have to go back for my picture eh? (No complaining here!)

WHAT IS REAL BARBECUE......its not what Dad did in the backyard on Sunday afternoon!!
BARBECUE IS......cooking slow and low in a closed pit at a low temperature using indirect heat and select hardwoods....a language unto itself including terms like mopping sauce, finishing sauce, dry rub, log burner, herky jerky, pig pickin, sops and soaks....a tradition of friends, family, good conversation, great food, hospitality, and the enjoyment of life!

The conclusion after the meal was "It's good, but not the BEST I've had. The meat should just FALL off the bone, but it didn't quite do that tonight" Gary did say that he'd try it again, but that he wouldn't hold his breath. I suppose we're still on the hunt!

I've fallen in love...

...with another man. And you will too if you read this book!

K, not sure if many of you know this about me, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE a good book. I love to read but not just anything...I'm quite a picky snob when it comes to picking a book to read. I research the author or read many reviews about the book. So, take my word for it when I say that this book is AWESOME and will be SO worth your time if you'll just pick it up. NO ORANGE BANGING HERE! PROMISE! Warning for you mothers out there...you'll get so into this book you'll totally forget you even HAVE kids once you get to page TWO! - I accept NO responsiblity for anything that happens to your children while you are fantacizing in Forks, Washington with Bella and Edward! But don't worry, you'll read it in less than three days and then life will NEVER be the same!

It's true, I walked in the door of our apartment one afternoon where my lovely Husband was creating something for us to eat for lunch and told him I had a confession (having had read some of my book at work that morning). I told him that I had fallen in love with another man...Edward. A vampire. Ok, all kidding aside...it's a great book and I want ALL of you to read it! It's one of those books that you'll love reading SO much you never want it to end. In fact, when I had about 10 pages left, I put the book down for 3 days because I couldn't bare not being able to read it every day! I've already read the second book and have to wait until October for the third one to come out. So, in that time, I'm determined to get you ALL to read this first book! Then we can start an "Edward fan club blog" - Oh wait, they're already out there! Ciara - I even expect YOU to read it while you plan your wedding! :)

A picture is worth a thousand words, right?

So, that would mean that I've automatically got 5000 words down before I even write anything eh? The missionary brother is home!!! It was one of those bitter sweet experiences. I know how badly I did NOT want to come home from my mission and how perfectly satisfied I would have been to land in Salt Lake, hug my family that was NOT waiting for me (long story) at the airport, and then get back on the plane and head back to Toronto. Yes, I could be just fine living there right now sharing the gospel. But, all good things must come to an end and such it is with a mission. So, I have to be honest and admit that as excited as I was to see him, my heart was breaking at the same time, the moment I saw him coming toward us. It's been fun to have him around and I love to hear him tell stories about experiences he had while he was in California. Haley was sure excited to see Dallin...but when she really DID see him, it was a whole different story...










Maybe she really didn't remember the Dallin that she prayed for all this time. She looks a little nervous there having Dalling hold her. She's loves him now though. They're good buddies and she calls him "D-Bone."

The other night Gary and I had the rediculously awesome opportunity of attending the Jass vs. Spurs game 3! That would be the one that the Jazz WON! It was a fun great game! At the time I met Gary, he had NEVER been to an NBA game EVER in his life. We managed to get some sweet tickets a while back and we went but that was nothing like this one! The crowd was seriously SO loud! It was awesome! My ears were tingling all the way home from the game, but it was SO worth it!
