So, I decided that I'd like to listen to Christmas Music while I birth this child. You know, for the REST of his life, he'll be hearing Christmas music on his birthday (and probably hate it, poor guy), I thought I might as well start the tradition the BIRTH day.
...but I need some GOOD Christmas music and I'm really out on the music scene. So, can you all pretty please share with me some of your most favorite Christmas songs (artists too, please) so I can put this play list together before it's too late?!? I'm still listening to Kenny & Dolly. Seriously! :) I'm sure a few of their songs might still make the cut, but I really need some new {a little more modern} stuff!

Baby Update: I went to the Doctor yesterday. He walked in the room and said "Now, I bet you're about ready to do anything to get this baby about now out aren't you?" and I said "Nope, this kid can't come until the 15th when my Mom comes" - He laughed out loud and said I was the first who has ever answered him with a "NO, I'm not ready" at 38.7 weeks. But after the {fun} appointment, he said he was pretty sure this kid isn't going anywhere for at least another week. Whew! (Of course, Doctors HAVE been known to be wrong a time or two. We shall see!)

MARIAH CAREY- ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU. It's perfect. He'll be on his way and the song will be blasting.
Celine Dion, Gloria Estafan, Barbara Striesand, Carpenters, and Motab. You could play "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer". Sorry Karen.
I love Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband. They have a whole Christmas CD but, if you go to their website and join the Shupe Group you can get 2 Christmas songs for a free download. http://shupe.net/
Smashing Pumpkins, Bing Crosby, Paul McCartney, Nat King Cole, and Burl Ives. I'm pretty old school...
I don't have a modern suggestion but when I was growing up we listened to the Andy Williams christmas RECORD, and now Kristen has the CD. I still love it. All of his songs.
Wasnt it the Carpentars we listened to and totally loved?
I just heard this new song that was pretty funny from an accapella group called "Straight no Chasers" ( you can youtube them) I liked it and just got their album. "Christmas Cheer"
The polar express soundtrack is pretty magical.. I love their song It's the spirit of the season." Some popular songs here in the south that are now favorites that I never heard before..
"Its a marshmallow world" ( my fav)
" I want a Hippapotamus for Christmas"
Michael buble' of course is aMAZING
and harry Connick Jr is pretty good too.
Josh Groban, Jaci Velasquez
I always loved the instrumental to the nutcracker too.
Of course I love the old stuff from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Bing Crosby , but thats just me!
Have fun!
I love the Michael Buble Christmas album. It's only 5 songs but it's really good. I'm also a fan of the Nutcracker and the Messiah. Those are both must-haves for Christmas. This year I bought Neil Diamond's Christmas album that came out in the early 90s. I love it, but just because it's so nostalgic. James Taylor has some good stuff too.
Come on...what about THE TABERNACLE CHOIR?! The Sissel CD has some GREAT music...but my fave...that's available...is "O Holy Night" by the King's Singers and the men of the Choir. It would be FAVULOUS for you to have that on your playlist sis! Oh, and anything Nat King Cole too!
Oh, and there's always "For Unto Us a Child is Born"....from the Messiah....we just sang it at the First Presidency Devotional...and it was pretty dang good (I know...another MTC plug...)
I was blog hopping, so we don't know each other, but your Kenny and Dolly cd cover caught my attention. I LOVE them and have the same cd. I also love SheDaisy's christmas cd - Brand New Year (they have one song on there with Rascal Flatts that is funny,) Trans-Siberian Orchestra - The Lost Christmas Eve. And my favorite Christmas song of all time is by Alan Jackson - Let It Be Christmas (that's the album and the song that I LOVE)
My favorite Christmas album is "the Forgotten Carols" by Michael Mclean...amazing, but the new Andrea Bocelli christmas cd is really great and they are more "calm" Christmas music...(c:
One of my new favorite is Sarah McLachlan Christmas album "Silent Night" and "A Winters Night" are pretty good.
If you can find 'O Holy Night' by N sync (I know, high school is over, right? Not for me!). Seriously though, they do it acapella and it's amazing....one of my faves ever! Good luck with everything, can't wait to see pics of him!
