Believe it or not

I am a major snuggler. I grew up with 2-3 siblings sleeping in my TWIN sized bed with me EVERY SINGLE night (until I went on the mission). Lincoln and Chandra on either side and then Jordan would occasionally join us. He would sleep with his head at the other end of the bed and I'm not really sure where his feet were but he was just as much a part of the snuggle fest as the rest of us. It was fun!

Needless to say, it was a hard adjustment when I had to "sleep in the same room but not in the same bed as your companion" in Canada. Not that I wanted to sleep with my companion. But that I was not used to sleeping alone! Well, I'm happy to annouce to the blog world that I lucked out MAJOR when I married Gary! He is just as much a snuggler as I am (maybe even more) and I love it! This is how cute he is, and I seriously laugh with delight inside when I get to do this each night, usually he'll fall asleep before I do and so when I go to get in bed, all I have to do is touch his hand or put my foot next to his and he'll totally hold my hand or snuggle my foot...IN HIS SLEEP! I LOVE IT! And I love him! And I can't help but do it every single night because it's so cute!

This man is H-O-T

And I'm happy to report that he's ALL MINE!

Dear Mady...

Remember when you were really really little and your Grandparents invited you to the Rodeo and while your Dad was walking with you into the Rodeo park, he felt something wet dripping down your leg and it turned out to be a B-L-O-W O-U-T diaper so your brand new parents had to change you on some random box sticking out of the ground in front of EVERYONE entering the park? I bet your parents remember it too! Well, I just wanted to say sorry that I was laughing the WHOLE time ya cutie! Yes, it's been a year and I'm still feeling the guilt!

Check it out!

OK, this still doesn't change the relationship I have with birds. We will never like each other. BUT, there is something kinda cute about Hummingbirds. Not my most favorite bird (that would be a cardinal), but probably a close second.

One morning about a month ago after my run, I was sitting out in front of my place stretching and noticed a humming bird flying across the parking lot to a tree right by where I was sitting. I sat there for a good half hour just watching this bird go back and forth and back and forth...pretty sure there was a little 'nesting' going on.

The next day I checked the tree and sure enough...a NEST had magically appeared. Since then, I've been keeping my eye on this momma bird (you know, making sure she was still there and that nothing happened to her). About a week ago, she was no longer there. ALL DAY she wasn't there (trust me, I know! I drove myself crazy by checking that tree a thousand times). I knew I'd never seen any baby birds peeking out so I wondered if the eggs just never made it and the Mom high tailed it outta there. I'd been meaning to take pictures earlier to document this process (but to be honest, I was actually really scared that the Momma bird would attack and we all know that wouldn't be good).

Then Monday night we were leaving on a little FHE drive and I walked under the tree and habitually checked my nest and there was the Mamma Bird! She was back!!! AND today after my run, I SAW BEAKS peaking over the edge! After Gary got home from work today, I went and grabbed a chair and made him pull the branch down so I could get a picture (I could have got it myself, but I needed a body guard to protect me from this Bird)! Cute pics eh? Well, sort of. OK, they aren't really all that cute. I never actually SAW the birds, the nest was still too high. I just put the camera up there and took a few shots. But I can't even tell you how small this nest is, so these birds have got to be T-I-N-Y.

Monsoons

The monsoon season is C-R-A-Z-Y-! Honestly, I've NEVER EVER seen this much rain in my LIFE...and, the crazy thing is, it's still BROWN here! What?!? Doesn't water and sun make things grow cause, we've got pleanty of both! Saturday afternoon we were on our way to the airport and it just so happened to be in the middle of a MAJOR rain fall. When I say MAJOR, my pictures do it NO justice! I guess the rain here has no where to go, so it just flows down the roads creating major 'rivers' This picture below is the water spraying from the tire...it was like that the WHOLE time, this wasn't just a puddle folks. Here is a picture of how much water was flowing down the street. See how the water is all the way level with the side walk? AND, see that little 'wave'? It's another big river of water flowing INTO this river from another street. I wish A) That I wasn't already super late for my flights and B) That I had my floaty...cause anyone who knows me knows exactly what I would have been doing, and it was deep enough, I coulda done it too!

My heart hurts

I didn't even really know Stephanie, but I LOVE her blog and have come to know her through reading it (and she doesn't even know it!) is it even allowed to feel like you know someone when quite frankly, they don't know you at all? Sure, I mean, she can find me in her year book, but does THAT even count? She went to Provo High as I did but is a few years younger. Her older brother and I are actually the same age...anyhow, tragety hit her family this past weekend and I am just heartbroken at the experiences Stephanie and her family are being forced to face. Yet, at the same time, learning of this and how her family is dealing with it has already made me want to be a better person, more like Stephanie! Prayers on behalf of NieNie and her family.

My life lately:

Is anyone else having a hard time getting anything done (including going to bed) because of these darn olympics? It's ok to justify doing NOTHING but watch them all day, all night and even at 5:30am right? Yes, I do!!! I'm not complaining or anything...I'm just saying...

:::SIGH:::

I allowed myself to purchase ONE bag of these when I was in Canada and I have rationed them out, sharing with no one but my husband (a little bit). ONE PIECE is all I have left (well, not for much longer) I don't know what I'm going to do with myself without these fabulous treats! It's probably a good thing that any more purchases of these are a good 1500 miles away! (Except that I did see I can buy them on Amazon.com for a whopping $19.61!) If you have never tried these fabulous finds, you might want to hop on Amazon right away (before I do)!!

Let's hear it!

"Happy Anniversary!!"
It was our 2nd Anniversary yesterday but Gary and I started the celebration last Friday with our ward camping trip! We had SO MUCH fun! We were going to leave about 5:00pm but it was about that time that a MAJOR MAJOR rain fall began...I mean, MAJOR! So, we turned on the Olympics and started watching the opening ceremonies...amazing! By about 8:00 the rain died down a little bit but left streams of water running through the grass and parking lot (yeah, THAT MUCH rain) but I managed to talk Gary into still heading up for an exciting camping adventure! We packed a bunch of towels in the car with the rest of our stuff and headed up. Our friends, Eric and Rachel were a little bit ahead of us on their way as well...We were about 7 miles from the camping site when Eric called Gary letting him know they were stuck! They were about 200 yards from the camp site where the road was dirt...or should I say MUDDY MUD. We weren't that much behind them so we tried to help them get out...no can do. So they got their stuff and hopped in our car and we decided to leave their truck and work at it in the morning where hopefully the ground would have dried up a bit. This is a picture Gary took the next day...still pretty muddy but not as WET and SINKING when you stand in it.Here is a picture of our cute tent that we love so much! I'm already begging Gary to go camping again THIS weekend! We bought a blow up mattress that is very snug inside this tent, so that's all their is in here...but it was SO worth the purchase! And we love our sleeping bags too! I'm bugged that I didn't take more pictures. When we got there the whole ward was all huddled around the fire trying to dry off. Most of the ward had arrived BEFORE the crazy rain started so EVERYTHING was wet, including everything in their tents. Most of them ended up sleeping in their cars...or wet sleeping bags. I made some tin foil dinners and corn on the cob to put in the fire...man it was SO good! I think that might be the REAL reason I want to go camping again this weekend! :)Saturday night Gary took me to a hotel here in Albuquerque. It was fun to "get away" without even leaving the city! Can you see Gary in this picture!? Where's Waldo! Here is the view from our room...but most importantly, this is a picture for all of you to see down town Albuquerque. Just so you know there actually IS a down town!

About 9:00pm we were watching the Olympics...when there was a knock at the door. A little cute treat was dropped off just for us! YUMMY!! It was a fun anniversary...of course mostly because of WHO I got to spend it with! I hope I get to spend my anniversary with him EVERY year! :)

Thanks Gary! I always have a blast when I'm with you! Thanks for being such a wonderful friend! I love you!

SCENTSY SPIRIT!!!

For the past four days I've been in from Boise Idaho attending a convention for Scentsy. The wickless, flameless and totally AWESOME candles that I sell. It was SO much fun to talk to so many other women who love Scentsy almost as much as I do and I made some great friends!

Allow me to take a minute of your time to share with you my specials for this month:

What is Scentsy?
Scentsy is a wickless, flameless candle company with many cute warmers and over 80 FABULOUS scents! Shown below are just three of the over 40 different warmers that can be purchased. There is a 25 watt light bulb in the bottom of the warmer and a dish on top that holds the scented wax allowing it to melt due to the heat of the light...and releasing the best smelling goodness you've EVER smelt!
The scented wax comes in these little cute plastic containers shown in the picture below. As you can see, it looks like a little ice cube tray providing you with SIX cubes of scented wax. Each square lasts 10-13 hours which means your whole bar will last you 60-80 hours. How this works is you break off a cube or two (depending on how strong you want your candle, I usually just use one, it's plenty of scent for me) and drop it in the dish...and turn it on! In a mater of a few minutes, your ENTIRE house will be smelling divine! Because there is no flame, the wax does not dissolve into the air (keeping your home free of soot and who knows what else) the wax just melts and releases the scent. Because of this, there will come a time where the wax is no longer releasing scent, all you need to do is just dump it into the garbage, wipe it out with a paper towel and put a new scent in! It's very easy to change your scent as well. If there is still scent remaining, you can re-use it by just dumping it back into the container it came in, wiping the dish out, and then putting a new scent in! Mixing scents to make great combinations is also really fun! I leave my warmers on 24 hours a day because they're safe and makes my home smell so great!Scentsy also sells Car Candles in every scent:
And room sprays in every scent as well:
Some of my favorite scents include (but are not limited to): Grapefruit Pomegranate, Autumn Sunset, Havana Cabana, Skinny Dippin', Pumpkin Roll, Sugar Cookie and Sugar

How do you order?
You can visit my Scentsy website and click on "place an order" at the top of the page, select one of the events with my name (Tara Fears) on it, and then place your order. When I close the event, I will adjust your payment total to reflect any and all discounts you qualify for! If you have any questions at all or would just rather order through me directly...feel totally free to give me a call! My contact information is on my scentsy site!
ALSO, one last little bonus for you all to consider: Scentsy is a party based company, which means, I'm always excited when people call me excited to host a party! Even if you don't live in the same state as I do (which pretty much NONE of you do now that I've moved), I will mail you all the stuff you'll need and you can either host an open house for all you friends, family and/or co-workers, OR just show the catalog and scents to your friends individually. The Scentsy hostess rewards are fabulous, there is lots of free stuff given to anyone who hosts a ScentEvent. Anyone who books a party with me this month will get an EXTRA free warmer of their choice in addition to the hostess rewards!

No, I didn't get a job...

...that's not why I haven't posted in a few days. But I wouldn't mind if someone found me a job (hint hint). I'm actually at the Scentsy convention in Boise Idaho and have had a BLAST! Be expecting some more posts on this in the VERY near future... it's 12:15am right now and I have a little more partying to do!
