"Happy Anniversary!!"
It was our 2nd Anniversary yesterday but Gary and I started the celebration last Friday with our ward camping trip! We had SO MUCH fun! We were going to leave about 5:00pm but it was about that time that a MAJOR MAJOR rain fall began...I mean, MAJOR! So, we turned on the Olympics and started watching the opening ceremonies...amazing! By about 8:00 the rain died down a little bit but left streams of water running through the grass and parking lot (yeah, THAT MUCH rain) but I managed to talk Gary into still heading up for an exciting camping adventure! We packed a bunch of towels in the car with the rest of our stuff and headed up. Our friends, Eric and Rachel were a little bit ahead of us on their way as well...We were about 7 miles from the camping site when Eric called Gary letting him know they were stuck! They were about 200 yards from the camp site where the road was dirt...or should I say MUDDY MUD. We weren't that much behind them so we tried to help them get out...no can do. So they got their stuff and hopped in our car and we decided to leave their truck and work at it in the morning where hopefully the ground would have dried up a bit.
This is a picture Gary took the next day...still pretty muddy but not as WET and SINKING when you stand in it.
Here is a picture of our cute tent that we love so much! I'm already begging Gary to go camping again THIS weekend!
We bought a blow up mattress that is very snug inside this tent, so that's all their is in here...but it was SO worth the purchase! And we love our sleeping bags too! I'm bugged that I didn't take more pictures. When we got there the whole ward was all huddled around the fire trying to dry off. Most of the ward had arrived BEFORE the crazy rain started so EVERYTHING was wet, including everything in their tents. Most of them ended up sleeping in their cars...or wet sleeping bags. I made some tin foil dinners and corn on the cob to put in the fire...man it was SO good! I think that might be the REAL reason I want to go camping again this weekend! :)
Saturday night Gary took me to a hotel here in Albuquerque. It was fun to "get away" without even leaving the city! Can you see Gary in this picture!? Where's Waldo!
Here is the view from our room...but most importantly, this is a picture for all of you to see down town Albuquerque. Just so you know there actually IS a down town!
About 9:00pm we were watching the Olympics...when there was a knock at the door. A little cute treat was dropped off just for us! YUMMY!! It was a fun anniversary...of course mostly because of WHO I got to spend it with! I hope I get to spend my anniversary with him EVERY year! :)
Thanks Gary! I always have a blast when I'm with you! Thanks for being such a wonderful friend! I love you!

Happy 2-years, you guys! Wow...seems like just yesterday. Glad you got to have a real celebration; cherish that, because once the babies come along, you may have to start celebrating with them :)
Congratulations guys! Two years. I forgot it was your anniversary yesterday. Looks like it was a fun celebration.

Fun anniversary! That is so much fun to "get away" without really getting a-w-a-y.
